The best time to fish in Martinique, season by season
December to February — peak season
This is the height of the season for deep-sea fishing in Martinique: blue marlin, yellowfin tuna, mahi-mahi and wahoo all show up. If your vacation falls in these months, you're in luck: it's the best time of year.
March to May — the transition
Wahoo fishing stays excellent in March, and yellowfin tuna are still around. Marlin and mahi-mahi action slows a bit, making this a quieter stretch, ideal for a more laid-back day on the water.
June to August — sailfish summer
Enter the Atlantic sailfish: July and August are its best months. Yellowfin tuna and wahoo round out the picture for some great summer trips.
September to November — the comeback
The season gradually picks back up. Yellowfin tuna action ramps up again in November, a sign that peak season is on its way.
Martinique fishing season by species
- Blue marlin — at its peak from December to February.
- Yellowfin tuna — year-round, peaking from November to February.
- Atlantic sailfish — mostly in summer, July–August.
- Mahi-mahi — around the FADs (fish aggregating devices), November to February.
- Wahoo — year-round, best from December to April.
